With this brief introduction we will now continue to look at the ten social issues that have had the greatest impact on the world.

1. Obesity:

Obesity is on the rise in modern times. The number of overweight and obese people seems to have increased since a study conducted back in 2002. This problem is caused by the kind of work that is being done and the way food is being used now in our busy society. Unhealthy eating habits and a lack of commitment to work have led to the problem of obesity.

2.Smoking:

The percentage of smokers dropped from about 26.5% in 1998 to about 20.8% as shown in a 2006 study. As the laws become stronger for smokers, people seem to be giving up this deadly habit.

3. New Alcohol Consumption:

Among the 12th graders in one study, about 49% were found to be under the influence of alcohol one month before the study. The worst part of this is that most parents don’t know about it. In fact, many parents seem to have little or no connection with their children. This is considered to be one of the main reasons why young people are addicted to alcohol and drugs.

4. Transportation:

Transportation has often been a staple of poverty. This can make the situation worse.

5. Poverty:

Midland has recorded the highest number of people facing poverty. The number of deaths due to poverty has seen a dramatic increase and similar steps have been taken at the snail's pace as poverty progresses. This is one social issue that needs urgent attention as the lives of many poverty-stricken villages are in full swing.
